FIRST® Mission
The mission of FIRST® is "to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication and leadership."
This is a mission that FIRST Team 1334 works tirelessly to support. In addition to our numerous LEGO® based programs, designed to give high school students the opportunity to mentor elementary students to build science, engineering and technology skills, we have also been instrumental in starting and mentoring five FIRST Robotics Competition teams so far. More information about our outreach programs can be found under the "Outreach" section of our website.
In support of FIRST's global mission, Team 1334 has an expanded, local mission:
FIRST Team 1334's Mission

FIRST Team 1334 has a fundamental belief that every student deserves the opportunity to have the best possible robotics experience. When we couple this belief with the vision of FIRST to "transform our culture by creating a world where science and technology are celebrated and where young people dream of becoming science and technology heroes", we get our mission. The mission of our team is to create a community that encourages and supports science and technology heroes by building the profile of FIRST, building FIRST teams, building FIRST relationships and building FIRST political support. FIRST Team 1334 works in schools, community centres and at community and corporate events to build the profile of FIRST and to build lasting relationships. We also work with other FIRST teams and help to start new teams. FIRST Team 1334 engages politicians at all levels to demonstrate their support for FIRST in our own community as well as in other communities. FIRST Team 1334 is "Where Science Takes Action".
For a full description of our outreach events please refer to the "Outreach" section of our website.
